Best non-strenuous exercises?

Weight Loss | Exercise

Q: I started using alcohol following the loss of my partner for 3 years. Im now not drinking (2 months now) and have started a healthy diet. I feel a lot healthier and brighter in myself, but need a non-strenuous route back into exercise - I have done nothing for several years. What can you recommend?

A: First of all, congratulations for deciding to change your habits! It will be only for your own good.

As for your question, there are numerous non-strenuous exercises you can do. The most common and most used is slow WALKING. Here are some more:

  • Some forms of yoga
  • Stretching
  • Slow dancing (many forms of ballroom)
  • Walking, either on land, or in the shallow end of a pool
  • Easy bike ride (on a real bike or stationary one)
  • Water aerobics
  • Strolling

And many more, even house cleaning (dusting, vacuuming, etc.), or sport such as golf will be good a good starting point. Choose what you like the most and just go for it! Remember: just don't overdo! Usually results are not coming that quick as you want to. Patient is the key here.

Here is a great ebook that we are highly recommending for you to have. Hope this helps.

Good Luck!
